Nancy Grimm

Worship & Music
 

Have Love and passion for Lutheran worship with a clear vision of the goals in our worship. Experience in music, spoken word and rites Christian Faith.

  • Organize worship and music committee

  • Plan/Schedule choir, music and worship

  • Train ushers, greeters, acolytes

  • Maintain worship bibles, hymnals

  • Annual “thank you” for choir, organists, directors, soloist and instrumentalists

 


Pat Freeman

Evangelism

Invite people to know Christ and invite them to fellowship in the congregation. Conversational and organized – comfortable with rejection.

  • Chair Evangelism Committee

  • Call on visitors by phone, work, home

  • Call inactive members

  • Support all aspects of new members

  • Handle name tag system

  • Advertise and announce church activities

 

Jessie Fiene

Evan Freeman

Youth Leadership

Has a heart for youth and God. Experience working with youth and volunteers. Willing to sacrifice time and be flexible schedules

  • Chair youth board 4 times per year

  • Study missions and set yearly goals

  • Support, encourage and guide youth director, enlisting adult help

  • Relate youth accomplishments to the congregation.

  • Relay needs of youth to council


Chet Garness

Hospitality


Providing, nurturing, uplifting – teach and model true openness of Biblical hospitality. Care for strangers, poor and lonely.

  • Faithfulness in worship, personal devotions and lives of strangers

  • Host Father’s, Mother’s day, Pig Roast, Corn Feed, Thanksgiving pie

  • Support family needs, dinners, baby-sitting, car rides.

Monica Tosteson
Missions

Has huge heart for those in need, hurting, hungry and poor, lonely and suffering. Capable of writing and speaking.

  • Knows missions of Zion’s ministry

  • Write and speak to monthly missions

  • Inquire personal feelings of people

  • Hold council accountable to needy

  • Support mission workers

  • Chair mission committee

 





 

George Mickelsen

Vice President

  • Run meeting in absence of president

  • Assist preparation of annual report

Treasurer

Have full awareness of finances, budget, spending, needs of Zion. Review monthly income and expense with council. Prepare and distribute funds to meet the needs of Zion.

  • Prepare monthly financial statements

  • Annual financial report

  • Issue payments as required

  • Maintain financial books and statements

  • Annual budget planning and reports

 

George Mickelsen

Personnel and Finance
 

Have clear vision of the ministry, staff and finances. Evaluate and develop acute awareness of church personnel. Needs to be fair and firm. Complete budget knowledge

  • Yearly update job descriptions

  • Update pastor on how staff is working

  • Chair a person/finance committee

  • Budget reflective of goals and mission

  • Annual Report

  • Celebrate work of the staff

Jim Green

Stewardship

 

Have a “major” in being devoted and a steward of God principals. Symbolized by attitude of being a servant. Teach stewardship to the congregation

  • Annual campaign for financial needs

  • Chair stewardship committer - have a stewardship “service of thankfulness”

  • Lead council empowering people to serve

 

 

John Hawkinson
Building/Property

Understand and aware of building/property needs. Strong ability to delegate. Seek consensus in making decisions, but able to make decisions. Have history of buildings.

  • Identify needs of repair / improvement

  • Understand building budget

  • Utilize talents and skills of volunteers

  • Council agenda for work to be done

  • Delegate to volunteers and bidders

  • Develop plan for large projects


Nicole Stokes

Christian Education

 

Understand the need for re-educating children & adults.  They must have a healthy respect for where people are but also a fearless desire to invite personal growth and lift up awareness all around us.

 

  • To promote and help design Children and Adult education opportunities at Zion.
  • To meet with pastors and plan adult forums Sunday School, Confirmation and other education programs.
  • To inquire of the congregational members their interest and needs in education, bible study, etc.
