Shepherding Ministry
Now is the time to make that step to join the Shepherding Ministry Team. Recently, as I have spoken with some of our “flock”, I have had a few requests for help with basic needs around the house. By asking around, making phone calls, and basic trial and error, I have been able to meet those needs. However, I would like to be able to respond to needs more promptly and effectively… SO…….I would like to build a “directory” of willing workers who have skills to share with others who need assistance.
You don’t have to be a master carpenter, or landscape planner, a gourmet chef, or a prestigious plumber…sometimes it may be as simple as moving some heavy furniture, cleaning up a yard, unclogging a drain, or maybe building a ramp …or helping to fix some meals before surgery that could be frozen for easy use after surgery. There are endless possibilities … just think what we could do as a team!
So … if you have a gift or skill that you could share, please prayerfully consider this opportunity to serve Your Lord. You can call me at 257-2713 x13 …… or e-mail me at shepherdzion@yahoo.com … or drop a note in my mailbox in the office … or just stop and talk to me!
And if you are one who is need of some help, please let me know in the same way.
Thank You for your response to this need,

Available Drivers?
All of us have busy lives and appointments to get to … doctors, therapy, procedures, etc, and we rearrange our schedules and go. For some of us, however, this presents a bigger problem … HOW will we get there? Transportation is not always available or is too expensive …
I would like to create a list of available drivers who would be willing to transport those in need to and from appointments. If this is something that you could provide occasionally, please prayerfully consider this opportunity to be the “hands and feet” (and Wheels!) of Jesus.
Contact Sherri Baumann, Shepherding Ministry, via the church office 257-2713 or e-mail – Shepherdzion@yahoo.com

Have you ever wondered what the Council, Staff, and Volunteers actually do in each area of Ministry at Zion? We have so many “angels among us” that help to sustain and grow our church. We want to thank each and every one of you!
This newsletter is Council’s way of letting you know the categories of ministry at Zion : who the leaders and volunteers are, the contact person for each area , and a brief description of the category of service as well as where you can join a team of “angels among us” for Zion.
Shepherding Team:
Shepherding Ministry has been a vital and empathic team at Zion. They have many ongoing activities; however, one of the main jobs they do is embodying an active and caring visitation team. They have over 30 hours of recorded visits in one month!
Seniors and Friends Mid-Week Worship Service was also chartered at Zion by Mrs. Baumann. The next Seniors Service and Luncheon will be on September 22nd.
The team continues to take charge of gorgeous baptism and prayer shawls with “prayer woven into every stitch.”
Sherri has also been a driving force in planning Fellowship Group activities and events.Once a month, Sherri alsooffers a Blood Pressure Screening in addition to organizing health and safety events such as a Flu Shot Clinic on Sept. 18th as well as an upcoming American Red Cross Baby Sitting Course. There is a new Bulletin Board in church as well as online information at www.zionlcc.org that highlights this outstanding ministry at Zion!
Thank you to Sherri and all the dedicated leaders and volunteers that have helped this program to grow. If you would like to be a part of this Team in any facet of its mission, please contact Sherri.
Our Visitation Team includes: Dorothy Peterson, Deb Harvey, Virgi Johnson, Jim Green, Pat Stoltz, Wayne and Darlene Driver, George and Vicki Mickelson, Cindy and Rich Helgerson, Pastor Mike and Sherri.
