Sharing Time and Talents
The ministry provided in and through Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church is dependent upon the time, resources and talents of all who make up this faith community.
Altar Care Team
Members of the Altar Care Team set-up/clean-up for all services, communion, baptisms and preparations for special services throughout the year.Responsible for changing Altar praments and needed. If interested in joining the team contact Virgi Johnson (651-257-9878 or Vicki Mickelsen (651-257-1453).
Stewarship Team
Our Stewardship teams annual activity is to ask people what they would give if there was nothing to hold back their level of giving before Commitment Sunday.
Quilters
Zion Quilters has met on the 2nd Wednesday of each month, 12:15 to 3:00 p.m., longer than any of the present group can remember. The quilts made are for usefulness, not design. Under the guidance of the present coordinator, Corrine Mix, this group of women assemble the multi-colored block designed quilts. They are then given to local public-need organizations or taken to the Lutheran World Relief drop-off location in St. Paul, MN, and distributed to points around the world.
There is always a need for assistance in cutting the cloth blocks and/or sewing these blocks together at home, prior to the quilts being assembled and tied.
Besides Quilts this group also gathers and assembles items received from congregational in-gatherings for Layettes, School Kits and Health Kits. These are given to Lutheran World Relief or local public service agencies for distribution.
Zion Quilters are one of the many 'behind the scenes' services of our members.New members are always welcome - No 'Quilting knowledge' is needed!
